One of the biggest games of the Labor Day weekend featured the defending champions Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Virginia Tech Hokies. The final score of the game was Alabama 35 – 10 Virginia Hokies. Alabama will look to repeat as National Champions this season and have all the talent to pull it off.
Despite actually losing a game in 2012, the Crimson Tide once again showed that success comes from the top. Nick Saban is one of the best coaches in the sport and despite their loss to Texas A&M at home in front of more than 108,000 screaming fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Saban had his kids ready to bounce back. They did just that by completing back-to-back 49-0 shutouts before beating Georgia to win the SEC Championship. They followed that win up with the BCS National Championship by dominating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Key 2013 Games
Playing in the Southeastern Conference, the Crimson Tide will get a schedule filled with tough matchups. On any given week, no matter how much talent is on this Alabama team, a loss could derail their hopes to win the National Championship. Let’s look at some ley matchups on their 2013 calendar.
- Saturday, September 14 – @ Texas A&M Aggies (Final Score: Crimson Tide 49 – 42 Aggies)
The one team that was able to put a loss on the Alabama record a season ago will look to do the same again. The biggest difference between the game this season and the game last season is the Aggies will be at home for this nationally televised game as they seek out the upset.
- Saturday, November 9 – vs. LSU Tigers
The Crimson Tide will welcome the Tigers to Tuscaloosa for this crucial SEC game. It will be one of the hottest tickets in the 2013 NCAA football schedule and one that will pit two of the best teams in the nation against each other.
- Saturday, November 30 – vs. Auburn Tigers
